Lean into your dark side within this candlelit Edgar Allan Poe Speakeasy.
Edgar Allan Poe historians will bring his Gothic writing to life through captivating retellings of The Raven, Masque of Red Death, The Tell-Tale Heart and The Black Cat — complete with libations, of course. Throughout the experience, a skilled mixologist will shake up four signature cocktails to pair with each tale, such as “The Raventini,” making sure that each drink is as deliciously decadent as the next.
The Ruby Room at Music Theater Heritage in Kansas City, located at 2450 Grand Blvd in the heart of Nob Hill, is the perfect backdrop for this spine-chilling experience. Decked out with stunning chandeliers and comfortable movie theater-style seating, the Ruby Room provides an intimate, elegant setting for the speakeasy.
Visitors can also step into an equally incredible Poe-themed speakeasy at the Vox Theatre Event Space at 1405 Southwest Blvd. Located in the historic Rosedale neighborhood, the classic event space first opened for business in 1922 and still boasts its original pressed-tin ceiling!
Tickets to this 21+ event begin at $55 per person, and include four complimentary cocktails. The 90-minute show is only in town for two evenings and slots are limited, so be sure to save your spot!
